چکیده

Abstract We analyse the dynamics of a single disk galaxy from general relativistic viewpoint. investigate dark matter (DM) effects in terms known family stationary axially-symmetric solutions Einstein equations coupled to rotating dust. These are generated by non-Newtonian features such and ascribed essential role frame dragging. Indeed, models, off-diagonal elements metric are, general, same order magnitude diagonal ones. generalize results Balasin Grumiller (BG) physical case differentially In particular, we find that for differential rotation amount energy density required account flat curves galaxies is reduced with respect BG rigid case. This stresses discrepancy between Newtonian gravity relativity (GR), even at low velocities densities.

Stability of general relativistic Miyamoto-Nagai galaxies

The stability of a recently proposed general relativistic model of galaxies is studied in some detail. This model is a general relativistic version of the well known MiyamotoNagai model that represents well a thick galactic disk. The stability of the disk is investigated under a general first order perturbation keeping the spacetime metric frozen (no gravitational radiation is taken into accoun...

Steps Towards a General Relativistic Kinetic Approach to Quantum Field Theory at Ultra High Energies

In order to give an account of the ultra high energy asymptotics of quantized elds we propose a general relativistic kinetic approach. The possibility of this approach rests on an assumed persistence of a (state dependent) self-interaction of quantized elds in ultra small distances. In a kinetic approach the average structure of this interaction leads to the concept of local quantum inertia whi...

Rotation curves of spiral galaxies: A general-relativistic model

Spiral galaxies are considered as static and spherically symmetric Dark Matter Configurations (DMC) [described by Tolman’s type VII solution with vanishing surface density] of size a ∼ 10 kpc in which ∼ 10 Sun-like stars [non-zero rest-mass particles (NZRPs)] move along appropriate trajectories. Using general relativity (GR), we show that a mass of dark matter about 127 212 ×10M⊙ is required in...

Effective one-body approach to general relativistic two-body dynamics

We map the general relativistic two-body problem onto that of a test particle moving in an effective external metric. This effective-one-body approach defines, in a non-perturbative manner, the late dynamical evolution of a coalescing binary system of compact objects. The transition from the adiabatic inspiral, driven by gravitational radiation damping, to an unstable plunge, induced by strong ...

Relativistic Models of Galaxies

ABSTRACT A special form of the isotropic metric in cylindrical coordinates is used to construct what may be interpreted as the General Relativistic versions of some well known potential-density pairs used in Newtonian gravity to model three-dimensional distributions of matter in galaxies. The components of the energy-momentum tensor are calculated for the first two Miyamoto-Nagai potentials and...
